Before carving begins, you’ll receive a custom portrait sketch. We’ll refine it as many times as needed — until you say “That’s my baby.” No carving starts until you give the green light. And if the sketch never feels right, you receive a full refund — you risk nothing.

We do not settle for “close enough.” The sketch you approve is our absolute standard — if the final carving does not faithfully capture that approved design, we will remake it from scratch, once, on us. Your companion deserves nothing less than perfection.

Before You Commission
Is it truly hand-carved — not laser or machine-made?
Every portrait is carved by hand, stroke by stroke, in Italian vegetable-tanned leather. You can see the chisel depth and direction in every line — which is also why no two pieces can ever be identical. Machines are fast and perfect. That is precisely what we don’t offer.
What if I don’t have a perfect photo?
Perfect photos are welcome, but not required. Send what you have — we personally review every photo, and we’ll tell you honestly if a different angle would help. Details from several photos can be combined into a single portrait.
What if it doesn’t look like my pet?
Nothing is carved until you approve a portrait sketch — refined through as many revisions as it takes. And if the finished carving ever drifts from what you approved, we remake it from scratch, on us.
How do I pay? Do I need a PayPal account?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. Cards are processed through PayPal’s secure checkout — a PayPal account is never required.
Can I wear it as a bag charm?
Yes. Many patrons commission it precisely for that — a one-of-one charm on a tote, handbag or backpack. The high-quality metal clasp holds it securely, and daily handling only deepens the leather’s patina.
Will it survive real life on my keys?
It is built for pockets, purses, keyrings and bag straps — thick full-grain leather, a high-quality metal clasp, and hand-polished edges. Like all natural leather it darkens with time into a personal patina; keep it from prolonged water and it will age beautifully.
Is it only for dogs — or only as a memorial?
Neither. Every companion is welcome — cats, rabbits, horses and everything between. We currently list a single keychain because one artist can only carve so many pieces at a time; portraits can also take other forms — larger sizes, framed wall pieces, different shapes. If you have something in mind, write to [email protected] and we’ll gladly quote it.
What if I change my mind?
Before carving begins, you can walk away with a full refund at any point — that is the point of sketch approval. Your real commitment starts only when you say yes to the sketch.
